Massage therapy has been around for thousands of years as a form of healing and body management. In the past few decades, massage therapy has been more accessible than ever before. Massage is the practice of physical manipulation of soft tissue and joints through a wide variety of techniques.
Each practicing massage therapist will use these techniques in unique ways to maximise their efforts with their own personal pressure and work style. Pressure usually depends on the area of treatment as well as the desired effects and outcomes. Although there can be soreness associated with massage treatments, it is often short term and should be relayed to your therapist.
It is essential to have effective communication between the client and therapist so as to not risk damaging your tissues and to give you the best possible treatment. Interested? Please see my services page for more information.
